Program Overview
The KC Redemption Community Service Program is a community-centered initiative designed to empower individuals through meaningful service opportunities that strengthen neighborhoods, support personal growth, and encourage civic responsibility. The program connects volunteers with projects that positively impact Kansas City through outreach, mentorship, workforce readiness, hospitality support, counseling assistance, community beautification, food service, event support, and educational engagement.
KC Redemption believes community service is more than volunteerism — it is an opportunity to restore hope, build leadership skills, develop work ethic, and create pathways toward education, employment, and long-term community involvement.
The program welcomes participants of all ages who are seeking:
Court-approved or school-required community service hours
Volunteer opportunities
Workforce readiness experience
Leadership development
Community engagement
Mentorship and personal growth opportunities
Participants may be assigned to various service opportunities based on organizational needs, availability, interests, and skill sets.
Community Service Sign-Up & Assignment Process
Step 1: Complete the Registration Form
All participants must complete the official KC Redemption Community Service Registration Form online.
Information collected includes:
Full name
Age
Contact information
Emergency contact
Number of required service hours
Availability
Areas of interest
Court or school documentation (if applicable)
Step 2: Intake & Orientation
After submitting the registration form, participants will be contacted by a program coordinator to:
Review service requirements
Discuss goals and interests
Verify documentation if applicable
Schedule orientation
Orientation includes:
Program expectations
Attendance policies
Dress code
Safety procedures
Site assignment information
Step 3: Site Assignment
Participants will be assigned to community service opportunities based on:
Availability
Interests and skills
Transportation accessibility
Required service hours
Organizational needs
Assignments may include one or multiple locations depending on the participant’s schedule and program needs.
Step 4: Service Completion & Verification
Participants are expected to:
Arrive on time
Complete assigned duties
Maintain professional conduct
Sign in and out during each shift
Upon successful completion, verified documentation of community service hours will be provided to schools, courts, agencies, or partnering organizations as requested.
